Producing
I am currently the Executive Producer of Investigations for Gray Television’s national investigative team. We report stories for the company’s stations in 94 markets. Previously, I was in charge of the Target 8 Investigative Team for KOMU-TV, the NBC affiliate in Columbia/Jefferson City, Missouri and the learning laboratory for the University of Missouri. I executive produced, fact-checked and copy edited their television and online stories. I also have experience as an executive producer for newscasts and line producing. Reporting
I have more than a decade of experience as a general assignment and investigative reporter. I have investigated consumer issues, political ethical concerns and data-driven stories. Most recently, I investigated the coroner system in Missouri. I have received regional Emmy and Murrow awards, as well as a number of state awards for my investigative and crime reporting. Teaching
I was previously an Assistant Professor of Radio/Television Journalism at the Missouri School of Journalism. I taught Advanced Broadcast News and was the Managing Editor of KOMU-TV. I have also taught at multiple investigative and data journalism conferences nationally and internationally. I have created training modules and programs for high school journalism instructors, professional journalists and university students. Click below to see some of my teaching experience.
